J. Jacob Jenkins (Ph.D., University of South Florida; B.Arch., Drury University) is an Assistant Professor of Communication at California State University Channel Islands.
As the award-winning author of nearly 40 publications, Jenkins' work with religious and intercultural congregations has been honored by the Waterhouse Family Institute, the Carl Couch Institute, the CMM Institute for Personal and Social Evolution, the American Christian Writers Association, the American Society of Training and Development, the National Communication Association, and the Western, Central and Southern States Communication Associations.
Jenkins has traveled extensively through 5 continents and 23 countries. He has completed humanitarian work in China, Japan, Mexico, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Botswana, Great Britain, and the United States. And he has studied abroad in Italy, England, France, Austria, Belgium, Germany, Vatican City, and The Netherlands.
Jenkins currently resides in the foothills of the Santa Monica Mountain Range with his wife and their dog Shelby. In his free time he enjoys film, travel, and being referred to as "Dr. J."
